Qualified teacher with a Master of Arts (MA) in Applied Linguistics and currently, I am working on a PhD in Critical Discourse Analysis. Although my discipline is Linguistics, I have taught a variety of subjects through the medium of English, such as Economics, Law and social sciences. I understand the requirements for producing high quality academic writing so if you need guidance, I can help.
Experience
I have a vast amount of experience teaching in higher education in the UK, Italy and Japan. In particular, I have taught at Hitotsubashi, Tokyo Women's University and Waseda University so I have significant knowledge of university education. In the UK, I tutored learners in academic writing (e.g. thesis statements, paragraph structure, expressing voice), academic vocabulary (e.g. noun phrases, nominalisation, hedging, stance adverbials), paraphrasing and critical thinking skills - essential subject matter in higher education. Additionally, I am an International English Language Test (IELTS) Examiner and Cambridge Examiner and have had an enormous amount of experience tutoring students in this field.
